Early years

Jason Isaac Cutler was born on August 3, 1973, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He went to Wachusett Regional High School in Holden after growing up in neighbouring Sterling. When he was 11 years old, he started working for his brother's concrete construction company, Cutler Bros. Concrete. At the age of 18, he began training to be a bodybuilder. He earned a criminal justice degree from Quinsigamond Community College in 1993, expecting to serve as a correctional officer in a maximum-security prison.

Bodybuilding

Marcos Rodriguez, a personal trainer, encouraged Cutler to pursue a career in bodybuilding. He won his first overall triumph at the 1993 Iron Bodies Invitational, despite his desire to be one of the biggest competitors ever. His first competition came in 1992, when he placed second in the Gold's Gym Worcester Bodybuilding Championships. He frequently participated in bodybuilding-related documentaries as he built a reputation for himself in the industry, including Battle for the Olympia 2001, a pre-contest documentary video created by Mitsuru Okabe that featured several contenders as they prepared for the 2001 Mr. Olympia Competition.

He went on to win the Arnold Classic three times in a row in 2002, 2003, and 2004, and finished fourth in the Mr. Olympia competition four times before winning it for the first time in 2006.

Cutler tested positive for prohibited diuretics in the 2001 Mr. Olympia, but he sued and got his second-place position restored. In 2007, he won the Olympia for the second year in a row. After beating incumbent champion Dexter Jackson in 2009, he became the third Mr. Olympia in history to win the championship in non-consecutive years, after Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu. In 2010, he defeated Phil Heath to win his fourth Mr. Olympia title. In 2011, he finished second to Heath in the Mr. Olympia competition. Due to a bicep injury, he was unable to compete in the Mr. Olympia in 2012. In the 2013 Olympia, he finished sixth.

Cutler has been on the covers of fitness publications such as Muscle and Fitness, Flex, and Muscular Development during his career. He hasn't competed since 2013, instead focusing on Cutler Nutrition, his bodybuilding supplement company, as well as marketing and other social media-based business endeavours.
